Transfer of learning - REAL BIKESTransfer of learning is the influence of a previous experience on performing a skill in a new context, or learning a new skill. In the case of SPIN OUT, we want you to improve/learn your cycling skills through our sessions. There are 2 important principles when it comes to optimizing the effect of transferring your learning.
1.1) Specificity of practice When we practice, we usually have a goal. And if your goal is to be able to perform well at cycling outdoors, you need to ensure that your practice conditions are as closely matched to your goal as possible. Be it mounting a bike, changing your gears, or how you pedal. This is important, because if the skill or situation in which the learning takes place differs greatly from your end goal, negative transfer can occur. 1.2) Minimize negative transfer Old habits die hard. It is easier to learn a new skill, than to change a flawed habit. The weighted flywheel in a spin bike builds up momentum as you pedal, this allows the wheels to possess inertia, which ultimately causes the rider to have a reliance on it to keep up their RPMs. This in turn, provides unnecessary assistance to the pedaling motion, and causes the rider’s muscles to fire in a compensatory manner. At SPIN OUT, we only use REAL bicycles for YOU.

INSTRUCTORS AND PROGRAMSeveral studies have shown the positive influence of physical activities on mental conditions relating to one’s self efficacy, and locus of control (internal – external). Someone with an internal locus of control believes that they themselves have the capability to influence events and alter its outcomes, while someone with an external locus of control may sought to blaming external factors when they meet with failure.
Therefore, at SPIN OUT, we want to instill in our participants, the power and self-confidence to perform well. Our program have been specially created to push you to your limits while making sure that it is achievable by everyone. All our instructors have went through rigorous training, and are certified to push and motivate you through the daunting task of our 60mins SPIN OUT sessions. And we assure you, that once you have completed our program, you are ready to take on anything. |
ENVIRONMENT MEETS TECHNOLOGYTraining indoor in the comfort of a shelter and an air condition sounds comfortable. But leave that to movie night. Training outdoor in the heat and humidity has immense benefits.
